Midtown East

It isn’t often that designers are given an absolute blank canvas. This,1-bedroom apartment started as a few walls, beautiful parquet floors, and not much in between. With an open living/dining space and closed kitchen at one end, the goal of the project was ultimately about “defining” space without putting up physical walls. In order to achieve this, we created more functional and intimate zones that created an open kitchen with peninsula and nearby dining area. We also tweaked the circulation a bit, providing a luxurious all-in-one bathroom and dressing area right off the bedroom. All-in-all, the once blank canvas retains a flowing openness while efficiently and appropriately defining space to accommodate the owner and her modern variable lifestyle.
